I need help identifying a knife

I have been collecting knifes for quite a few years. I will try and get pics of them once I unpack. this one knife has me stumped. was given to me by my wife on my birthday a few years ago
 
Looks like a variations of a bird hunters knife. Got the it has the hook for the guts anyway.

I think you are on right track ! It may be a blade for skinning small animals , the handle has that bulge for leverage so you can pull out the guts

I have skinned and cleaned deer with a knife about that size . May also be a fish knife , I see what looks like a descaler ??

also has a hook release on the end ??
 
fish gaff.jpgit's a fish gaff. the buldge in the handle gives you a better hold. puma made a lot of them. alot of them had a metal ball on the end of the handle for killing the fish. being german i would look that way
