How to get full texture on leather?

How is this done? I tried to look for a roller of some sought but couldn't find one. Or is it purchased this way?

You buy it this way,there are lots of textures and faux skins such as alligator and snake .These types of leather are not usually veg tanned and should only be used as inlays or overlays that won't come in contact with your blade.

Are overlays glued plus sewed. I think I saw one of J Doyles that may have had an overlay.

Inlays and overlays are generally both glued and sewed.

That looks like shrunken calf leather. That's the only "real" leather I've ever seen with that texture.
