How Did They Make This??

I'm about to make my first Kydex sheath. I bought a Dawson custom knife about 3 years ago. At the last Gun Show they attended in Tulsa, I asked the young guy there how they made that belt clip. He said he wasn't sure. I really like the thought of a built in belt clip and would like to incorporate it into my kydex sheath.

So, for anyone who knows how they do this, can you tell me how?

Here's a pic of it.

That is a simple "pinch" in kydex or concealex type material. A heat gun with a concentrator nozzle ($15.00 at Harbor Freight) will pinpoint enough heat in a confined spot to make this material pliable enough to pinch this. Leave a tab of material when you form the sheath then bend over and pinch with concentrated heat. A little trial and error and a pair of good gloves and you'll master this in no time.

Get some 4" x 6" formica samples at your local home improv ctr to protect the rest of the sheath from over heating.

Thank you! I assumed that's how it worked, but then thought I'd better ask before doing...LOL
