Holstex Carbon Fiber Pattern

Below are pictures of the locking layer of one of my folder sheaths using Holstex in their new Carbon Fiber pattern.
Coming from the sport bike side of the motorcycle industry I am very familiar with Carbon Fiber and faux CF.
The pic's are taken in different lighting conditions to show the contrast between the two weaves light and dark just as with real CF.
Holstex has come closer to looking like the real deal than any other attempt I have come across as the pic's show, very impressive !!

Wow, that is some good looking material! What temp does it mold at? And does it mold as easy as kydex? I had some concealex CF and cannot get a decent mold from it, tried different heats and it just seamed to curl up and get funky. I believe I seen this new stuff on Knifekits web store. Thanks for the pics.
Sincerely,
Clint

I was contacted yesterday, and will be receiving some of that material to evaluate. I'm also curious of the working characteristics. I reviewed the prices of it, and compared to standard Kydex 100, it's rather pricey.....so in order for me to switch to it, the working characteristics will have to be improved over standard Kydex, and customers will have to be willing to pay the extra money for it. There's no doubt that it's "cool" looking, but the question is....will customers be willing to pay extra for the "cool" factor?

300 to 350 for 45 sec to 1 1/2 min, Holstex is defiantly closer to Kydex than Concealex, however if it gets too hot the CF pattern will completely disappear.
It is pricy compared to Kydex but I do receive requests for the CF pattern often enough that I will keep a bit on hand. I am in no way endorsing it as I will need to use it and see it in action for awhile.
I posted only to say that the pattern is the closest to looking like the real thing than I have seen.
I will have to work with it a bit more to do a better comparison, however from the limited experience I do have it is close.
