rhinoknives Well-Known Member Jan 6, 2014 #3 I personally don't use a lot of horn or bone but what I can share is you want to work it slowly and COOL with sharp belts and keep it moving. It doesn't like getting hot from a buffer. it could crack from excessive heat.

Dennis Morland KNIFE MAKER Jan 7, 2014 #4 Thank you for the tips. I sanded on it a little bit yesterday evening. It was -12 in the shop. Knife tended to stay on the cool side. DeMo
