Help - finishing buffalo horn

Anybody have some great tips on finishing buffalo horn???

sand it finely then buff with wax (like wax) for a very glossy finish.

I personally don't use a lot of horn or bone but what I can share is you want to work it slowly and COOL with sharp belts and keep it moving.
It doesn't like getting hot from a buffer. it could crack from excessive heat.

Thank you for the tips.

I sanded on it a little bit yesterday evening. It was -12 in the shop. Knife tended to stay on the cool side.
