Hello to all the knife makers out there! Just a quick intro after registering. I've been making knives a little over a year now. Really enjoying it. I am making knives sort of full time, and sort of part time....this is because I am also an RN and I still work part time, when the company I am with had patients for me. If they don't, then I work my knives. I am currently trying to build up some inventory for my first gun/knife show locally. I hope to have 15 to 20 knives for the show. We have these shows each month at various towns in the area, I hope to make it to each one once a month. I have a fine arts background also and I love to incorporate my artwork into my blades whenever possible. I do a lot of resist acid etching to get my art on to my blades. I know not everyone wants artwork on their knives, but some do and some just want like collect them. My name "Pinto" (After the paint horse) was given to me by the Sioux Tribe in South Dakota, the story of how I received it is on my web site; it's a bit long to explain here, but it is the reason I title almost all my knives after horse breeds from around the world. I am learning new skills every day with each new knife and loving it every minute. I have found that the possibilities in knife making is endless and when you add some art into the mix, I will never be bored! I am looking forward to meeting you all in the future. I know there will be much to discuss and learn on this great forum of talented people.

Ha! Given that you live in Alamogordo I thought that Pinto was the bean. I was raised in Lovington and ate plenty of them and still do. I just went to your web-site and read your bio. Looks like we took life as opposites. I started in New Mexico then moved to Atlanta, Georgia where I went to law school and then practiced in Georgia for about 35 years, whereas, you started in Georgia and wound up in the Southwest.

Glad to meet ya Wayne. Yes it does look like we went in opposite directions! I enjoy it here in New Mexico as the humidity is dry and very few bugs!
Thanks for checking out the website...I knew the link wasn't hot...haven't figured out how to make it as such yet. Maybe you can clue me in. I was assuming if was for paying members?? I'll take a gander at you site as well and drool over the work! Thank you for the welcome!

Well Hello George! Glad to see someone knows of me here! lol Yeah Youtube has been great place to meet and share. Drama was a bit overwhelming at times but I just ignore it all now and focus on what I love doing the most. So glad to be a part of this forum and meet new people and learn from the experienced. Thank you for the response and warm welcome. I had never been to your website so I bookmarked it and will be drooling over it. Hope you are well and the weather is good on Florida. Keep in touch my friend! I try to check in on the forum as often as possible. One question.....if you post something, is there a way to get it to come to your email so you know someone replied to one of your posts? I didn't see yours until I signed in tonight.
