Hello everyone
My name is Tyler Bishop I am born and raised in Hawaii. I am 34 years old I am the son of a wood and stone sculptor and have dabbled in that medium since I was really young. I've alse been a licensed tattoo artist for 4 years and have been a union sheet metal worker for 15 years. I've always wanted to do some blacksmithing and after watching a few backyard smiths on YouTube I figured out you didn't need a ton of sophisticated equipment to make nice knives so I decided to give it a try. I built my own gas forge and dug up a few old leaf springs and decided to give it a go.
 
Welcome! Uncle Sam decided I needed to live in Hawaii for a couple years, need to get back for a visit. Post some of pics of what you come with, there's a lot of help on here.

Welcome to the Pack here at KD's. I have Family in Kona area of the big Isle. I am over due for a visit and I need to get back on Hawaiian time.
 
Does anyone have a suggestion for files...brands/types? There are so many it gets overwhelming. I figure if I can get some tips on brand it will be a start
 
Welcome aboard , I was stationed at radar installation on the southeastern Kau coast, between Hawaii Volcanoes National Park and the town of Naalehu, The station I don't believe it still there because that area was designated a world cultural site and was moved to big Island . Very beautiful Place . I hated to leave . But I was ready for Discharge. I also worked for Sperry Rand and their Radar research site in Honolulu .I would like to visit again someday . I still have a cousin who owns Mercedes Dealer ship there. Someday soon I hope to visit again after all these years.


Edwards Mercedes dealer ship . He wont give me a deal on vehicle , mainly because I cannot afford one :1: Lots of good makers here you can learn a lot in a pretty short time
