This is my first heat treat of CPM 154 , took it to 1950 D F held for 50 min , plate quench . Not sure if my results look correct , was looking for comment .

1950 is correct. 30 minute soak is enough for a blade. It should be fine after tempering.

It looks fine. Will probably get cleaner with practice. Did you leave it in the envelope for plate quench or remove it? I would say 50 minutes is fine (even good) as long as temp is controlled. Of course, the question of how it turned out needs more than a picture, but I don't see anything that concerns me. To get it cleaner, ponder how air got at the hot blade to create oxides.
