Thanks to the vets and military folks on this forum and across America for fighting to keep our country free and giving all of us the freedoms we enjoy today.
Sadly, I don't think a lot of our new generation is aware of what is really going on now or in the past, of all the people that fought and gave their lives so we can live the lives we do today.
I never served myself being too young for Vietnam but I saw friends brothers coming home wounded and it was heartbreaking.
My father fought the Nazis in Europe and my uncle fought on Iwo Jima. I still have pictures my uncle brought back from Iwo and it's hard to imagine anyone going thru that and coming home.
I have a framed picture of the flag raising on Mount Suribachi, a young friend came over last year, not only did he not know where that photo was taken, he said he never saw it before, I was lost for words. and disappointed too.
