KNIFE MAKER
I looking for a list of suppliers for Japanese style handle wrap materials. I'm not interested in the expensive silk wrap, I'm happy with cotton or whatever it is. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks
 
Check with Ben Kreiser at http://japaneseswordsltd.com . Ben is a great guy and usually keeps Ito in stock in numerous colors as well as untanned Same. If you have trouble reaching him thru his site, drop me a PM. I have a couple of different numbers on him.
 
Thanks to both of you. I must have spent an hour looking around on Ben Kreiser's site. There's a lot of interesting stuff on there.
 
Ben is really good people. We met while Nadine and I were living in San Antonio and I was going thru blade withdrawl. Ben graciously invited me into his shop and taught me how to carve and wrap a tsuka as well as how to cast menuki, fuchi, kashira, and tsuba using the lost wax method. I really miss spending time with Ben.
