Grit Size Equivalents

I am always asking myself, what's the grit size equivalents between the "P" grit on a bonded belt, the "A" rating on a Trizact belt, and a micron size.
Well, here's a handy little chart that mostly matches up those 3 grit designations. The bolded numbers indicate common belts that I use.
I've got a couple other charts like this one, but they are not quite as easy to read.
Of course these designations don't address backing weights or bonding materials (belt flex and wet vs dry).

It's a shame Trizact didn't just use the actual micron size for their belts as close as the are. Sure would have simplified things. Even better would have been just use the normal sandpaper belt grits.

I order my Trizact from Tru Grit. The invoice shows the equivalent grit size. I keep a copy by where I store my belts. I store my belts on pegs with 3" diameter carpet tubing cut width wise so they are not being hung on small posts. On each post I have the Tru Grit number with the normal grit size.
