So Saturday I went to a Hammer in there were 4 demonstrators,2 of the demonstrators were from Dragon Breaths Forge. Matt Parkinson and Maruka (sure I spelled it wrong) of Forged in Fire Fame, GREAT GUYS! Matt forged a large Bowie and explained all the way through each step! Maruka did an instructional talk on how to achieve certain patterns in Demascus by manipulating the billets between forging sessions. The other 2 also did real time demos too. First one showed how to build a billit for a sword. Secpnd gent showed us his meathod of making San Mia.! And if that wasn't enough I met Aldo from NJ Steel Barons and bought some steel!! All these guys were all unbelievably good natured and beyond helpful!! They answered endless questions from the crowd. Sunday went to my Friends Demo at Capital District Blacksmith Association. I learned so much Saturday and Sunday it was like paying for a class!! GREAT WEEKEND, with friends and made some new ones too!!
