It is. I got some billets a while back. In my limited knowledge I would call it damascus in the rough. The billets come ‘layered’ like a cake . Forging brings out the pattern. I may try a ladder pattern next.This is the Dion Damascus, correct?

This one is a model 63 kit gun in 22 caliber. I do have the S&W models 66&19. I collect S&W revolvers.That's a nice looking knife OP, nice back ground in the photo too!
I just got that issue of American rifleman with the story of the men & guns of Iwo Jima.
My uncle was in the marines and fought that battle, and my father was a cop, I inherited his duty revolver,
