First try at Neo

Hey guys, just finished this one this afternoon.

Blade: 01 Ferric Chloride Black Finish
Bolsters: None
OAL 9 1/2”
Blade Length 4 3/4”
Blade Width 1 3/8’”
Carbon Fiber pins
Osage Orange w/ Belt Burn Antiquing :les:
Thickness at the tang 5/32”
Blade Grind Flat
Time of fabrication – 10 hours


I would love to know what you think and I need some information. This is my first attempt at a colored blade. I assume that the black is simply oxidation. I hit it a pretty good lick with fine steel wool. My question is How will this finish age?

Nice looking knife. With time and use the finish will get shinier and some wear will become evident. It will get character! It will also depend on how much care you give to keeping it clean.
