Have not stepped a foot in my garage for way too #^#% long. Time to get back to doing something I love - trying to learn to make a knife... Here’s my start for 2021

1084
OAL around 11”
blade is around 6 1/2”
Just starting to hand file the bevel

I learned sooooo much from making ol’ hillbilly’s knife - I really hope to up my game on this one where the fit n finish are concerned - tis where I struggle.

Man it’s good to be back - missed you guys a lot.

Fit and finish is where ALL newbies struggle. Meownself included.
But one thing that I'm certain of and that's this : fit and finish are the most important thing. It's just a matter of paying attention and taking your time. Ed Caffery said it best : " if ya look at it and day "that's good enough" then it's not. " Print that out and stick it over your filing station . And over your sanding station. And over your finishing station.
