The title says it all. Smooth delivery for me anyway, the truck driver (semi) had to back up about a 1/4 mile to get off my road no way to turn around 1/2 mile dead end total. The kiln was packaged nice on a pallet I unwrapped placed and plugged it in and spent the next day, yesterday treating a half dozen file knives for practice. I quenched them in brine with no pings or cracks, this oven is so convenient I love being able to do other things while its working.
Aside from the many other support tools I find people leave the oven for the last purchase or don't ever get one, why I don't know. I have a 2x42 grinder just enough to hold me over, now I have everything to move forward. I have made about a dozen knives this oven just makes it allot easier.Next I will upgrade my grinder.

Thanks all for the knowledge and support in deciding to make this purchase. Grind on.

That's exciting, I just ordered the KF 27.5 from Tracy at usaknifemaker.com. Didn't know it shipped freight, my situation is similar to yours, I'm at the end of a cul-de-sac. Heat treating blades is one of the few things that can be farmed out relatively inexpensively. I jumped in to knife making headfirst with a kmg grinder, so far I'm extremely happy with it, that would be my suggestion when upgrading your 2x42.

Hell yeah, I just reciever my evenheat kiln as well. It has made heat treating a streamlined process. Program, run, quench! Went from a 2x42 craftsman modified to variable speed to a variable speed KMG. Just got belts today, so I'm going to profile a couple blades tonite. Yeah, new tools! Have fun guys! I know I am.

That's great.. I have had my Evenheat for about a year and a half before that I had a old fashioned burnout kiln. It has made everything better for me because of being able to program . You should start saving for your grinder and if you can I recommend a VFD.. highly recommend one. Also keep in mind a good tempering oven is very handy as well. You can use your kiln when it cools but having a good stable oven. Not a toaster oven if you can help it.Look on Craiglist for a burnout oven of some of box kiln they can be had for cheap if you keep your eyes peeled. Well good luck .
