EDC in Spalted Tamarind

Finished this one up this morning. Spalted tamarind scales, 7" OAL, 3.5" blade, black micarta pins, brass lanyard loop in 1084 steel with a scotch brite finish.

Is that Tamirand wood stabilized? Also is it considered a hardwood? Nice looking for sure!

It's fairly soft, I stabilized a batch of scales that I cut

I' just getting into using wood. I've used G10, Micarta for the most part. That's because I was building mostly EDC knives and scince you carry them most of the time figured the Man made stuff would last better? Started to use some Maple I had and loved working with it! Now Im looking for wood I like!! LOL!!
