Ebony and Buckeye Burl Slicer

Its been a while since I've been in the shop, probably 3-4 weeks due to business travel, vacation etc. But I was able to get back to the grinder this week. I had a box of 01 tool steel that came with the 3 in 1 milling machine I got a few months ago. So I pulled out a piece of the 01 and starting grinding. The handle is buckeye burl, ebony with Juma/carbon fiber bolster. OAL is 11.25 with a 6.5" blade. The blade is hand sanded to 120 grit with a hand scotch brite finish. Feedback and comments always welcome. Thanks.

OP, how did you accomplish the scotch brite finish. Did you just go get a pad and do single direction pulls? It looks good and even.

Hey Chris. I typically take the finish up to 400 grit but for some reason this blade looked good a 120 grit but it took a lot of elbow grease. This 01 seemed to be much harder to sand out vs 1084 or 1095, but that might just be me. I did exactly as you stated.
Thanks!
