es, there is a pdf out there that is pretty much the same thing as Steel Metallurgy for the Non-Metallurgist. However the book does not belong to John Verhoeven; it belongs to ASM International which you do take money from when you violate their copyright when you download that pdf. It also does take money out of John Verhoeven's pocket because ASM International pays him royalties on book sales.

Sorry, I wasn't aware of that. Just going by what Walter told me.
 
It's ok. There's a lot of people who think that the information is the public domain. I had one person tell me that he was personally given a note, evidently when Verhoeven owned the manuscript, that he could use the material to teach a college class with. However, the overleaf of the book states that "No part of this book may be reproduced, stored in a retrieval system, or transmitted, in any form or by any means electronic, mechanical, photocopying, recording or otherwise, without t he written permission of the copyright owner."
