Hello Everyone,
I am selling this dao. It is a sole authorship, with every bit of the work done by me. It is a fast and light sword, meant for one-handed use. It will be a good cutter, and good for form work in Tai Chi. This is a chance to own a blade with Chinese stylings but made with American materials, and made in a single workshop rather than a factory.
The outer plates are each about 720 layers of low Mn 1075, W2, and 1020. The central cutting core is W2 (because of the vanadium and high carbon of this alloy). The grain pattern in the steel, and the heat treatment as revealed from the intensive hand polish, are truly beautiful. The pictures hint at, but can not capture, the depth and subtlety of this blade.
I am asking $900 or best offer, free sharpening and delivery to buyers with the US.
