Cutting Belt Slots in Kydex?

I would mark the area that you would like to slot and the drill proper sized holes at the ends. I would then heat the kydex and use a straight edge and exacto knife to cut the slot. You will likely have to heat the kydex several times to make the cut. You could also use the same process by using a dremmel and cut off wheel on slow speed. If you use it on a high speed setting you'll end up melting the kydex.

How about making a belt loop seperately and attaching it to the belt with screws? It is what I do, and allows you to remove the loop or change its postion.

to make a loop, just take a 1 1/2" wide piece of kydex about 6" long and heat it, then wrap it around a piece of 1 1/2" x 1/4" piece of steel (or a piece of wood, or an actual belt) to make a loop. With a bit of practice, you can make a loop in about 30 seconds.

I wqould have done that, but client sent a drawing with slots, so that's what I'm doing. A loop sure would have been easier.
