Checkered Damascus hunter...

That’s awesome! I just inherited my grandfathers checkering tools, I’m itching to try them out on some small pieces of wood I’ve got laying around!

John you nailed it again. I really like the Damascus and Ironwood is my favorite...I bet it is tough to checker? Since it can be kind of chippy?

Again, the cleanliness of that wood to metal connection area just amazes me. And the checkering and Damascus are awesome. Good Job!

Sweet. How hard was it to checker that DI?

Its not that fun....I'll say that. :D

Its, as we know, REALLY hard wood. And its oily and when polished smooth, its really slick. The cutters will easily slide out of the initial shallow lines without taking extreme care.

Once the grid is laid out, and the lines are deep enough to hold the cutters securely, it cuts pretty decent.
