Checkered Damascus hunter...

Just finished this one up. Blade is 4 1/4" long. Overall is 8 3/4". The blade and guard are both 1084 & 15n20 Damascus. The handle is hand checkered desert Ironwood.

Its not that fun....I'll say that.

Its, as we know, REALLY hard wood. And its oily and when polished smooth, its really slick. The cutters will easily slide out of the initial shallow lines without taking extreme care.

Once the grid is laid out, and the lines are deep enough to hold the cutters securely, it cuts pretty decent.
