Any tips on gluing up ironwood?

I'm about to epoxy some ironwood scales up tonight and thought i should ask since I have never used it, do I need to do anything special before glue up?

Nothing special when it comes to gluing. Finishing is another story.....ironwood is very dense and hard compared to many other woods. New, sharp belts, and be especially careful at 400 grit and finer, if you "burn" ironwood, its a bugger compared to other woods to get the "burned" look to go away. I generally go to 600-800 on the belt(s), and any further is by hand. Don't try to put any liquid finish on it, just a light buff and a coat of quality wax.
