It was a small check on the corner , it was about 1/16 by 1/16 , ground the clip in and it is gone.

Clip point done , I like it better then the original drop point.

Thanks Opaul , I anxious to etch the blade as its 2880 layer feather damascus and I did have a few edge issues with the last weld.

I like it better also. It’s a handsome blade. What is you process to etch it? It seems like there is no “one way” due to all the variables (temperature, acid ratio, steel, grit...)

I have not settled on a given etching system , I am going to give Kyle Royer's format a try . I do believe that etching for Damascus and etching for Hamon are two different animals.
