9x11 Combat Paper

Has anyone tried Combats 9x11 sheet paper. I like many on here use Rhynowet. This stuff is around 1/2 the cost though!

They gave me some of their 9x11 sheets, along with a "sample" pack of belts at a show........ and after trying both, I gave the rest away and kept using my Rhynowet sheets, and my same belts. There's a reason why not only them, but most other "johnny come lately" abrasives are less money..... it's because they are cheaply made, and it takes twice as many of them to get the job done. Most of these abrasive outfits who have/are trying to take advantage of the "Forged in Fire" era have contacted me, asking me to try their products (and looking for an endorsement), and as long as they do it with some common courtesy, I will oblige them and try their products. After 1/2 a dozen or so, to date I am yet to test/use any that give me cause to change. In fact, after "testing", I've always been anxious to get back to abrasives that work better.

Although I too am always looking for better prices on abrasives, it's also good to be realistic, in that especially with abrasives, you get what you pay for.

I recently converted from HF silicon carbide wet/dry paper to Rhynowet. There is no comparison between the two. The HF paper is decent for the money but cannot hold a candle to Rhynowet on steel.

For me, I far prefer Aluminum oxide in a finishing paper versus Silicon Carbide....with one exception, and that being Norton Black Ice paper. I used Black Ice for several years, then for some reason it literally doubled in price overnight....and I simply couldn't justify it's price any longer. That's when I went to Rhynowet, and am still using it. Unless the Silicon Carbide is a super high quality (which unfortunately also means its usually super high priced too) it breaks down and "slicks out" far too quickly/easily for my tastes.

Now that I've been doing this a few years kinda figured if someone out there had used it this or something similar was going to be my answer! Thank you Ed as always for your insight!
