I'm still just a beginner and gonna give it a go at making a liner lock. Gonna use 410 stainless for my liners, only because I don't have a carbidizer to overlay a Ti lock face. Question is, if 410 when HT'd will reach a hardness in the low 40's, and a 1084 blade will reach around 60, because of the hardness differences, will the 410 lock face wear relatively quick?

I've never used 410 in a liner lock so I can't answer that question. I've always used 6AL4V ti and can tell you it's probably in the 40s hardness range too. I've never tested it but I have a Rockwell tester and will test some tomorrow and come back here.
It's used for it's ability to hold a spring more than it's hardness, as for carbidizing the lockface, I do it but I don't believe it's absolutely necessary for every liner lock for the sole reason that the lock is made of titanium.

Ok, I tested 6AL4v today. it's 37-38 on the Rockwell C scale.
