I had forgotten about six Puronvarsi blades I put away. I decided to make a puukko using a 120mm blade shortened to 110mm and satin finished. The handle is padauk with ebony and redheart accents. Bolsters were made from .188" brass.

Nice! How do you do that texturing on the front of the brass bolster - just ball peen hammer before installing?

Hi Tim,Thanks for viewing and commenting. I make the bolster to rough dimension from bar stock, inlet the blade, polish, then lightly tap the surface with a small ball peen hammer.

Thank you opaul. The Finns got it right a thousand years ago and to this day make it look so easy.
