1/4 HP motor enough for a disc grinder?

Basically what my title says. I just had the motor on our dryer replaced and the old motor is a 1750 RPM 220 V 1/4 HP motor.
According to the repairman all it would need is to have a capacitor replaced to get it working.

The short answer is no. I tried a 1/2hp once....and it didn't work.....it was easily stopped/bogged. Personally, I won't use anything less then a 1hp for a disc grinder.
