    Questions - Post heat treat grinding

    I grind almost all of my blades after heat treat. I think the key is to keep the blade cool, and use quality ceramic belts.

    Knife schools

    North Carolina has 2 knife making programs that I am aware of. The first is offered by Montgomery Community College and the second by Haywood Community College. I'm not aware of any other schools, although you might be able to find a local maker willing to provide instruction.

    tw90 question

    I purchased my TW-90 with a 12" contact wheel directly from Travis. Works great. I also use my 14" KMG style wheel on my TW-90. (Travis sells an adapter that makes this possible.)

    Scandi Grind Question

    No, not kitchen knives. Actually, I don't think I have ever seen a scandi ground kitchen knife. I imagine they would perform terribly. I was referring mostly to Moras and a few random customs that I have tried. A lot of guys seem to like them for bushcraft though.
