Has anyone heard of him and can give me some direction.

This is what we call in my old business an indicator. When I find a customer like this I politely decline the work. I have had more than a few bad dealings when I was a pistol smith. Almost every time, there was an indicator I ignored. Chris

Is there any part of your knifemaking that you consider trade secrets.

Ok my question is is there any part of what you do in knifemaking that you will not talk about with other knifemakers. Or in other words do you have any trade secrets you keep to yourself? The reason I ask is I used to be a pistolsmith (1911smith to be exact). And most of my peers kept how...

    Boker upgraded to Automatic

Went recently to my local gunshop and saw a slick looking Boker. It was a Magnum line (CHinese made) and had the button lock as you would see for an automatic. It was not an automatic, you hit the button then grab the blade and lever it out and it locks up when fully extended. I purchased said...

    Cutting Titanium ?

Yes I also as Jay mentions have friction cut TI using a wood cutting bandsaw and a blade put on backwards. Its probably not real good on the thrust bearing, so next time I will probably sand off all my teeth and try it that way. ANyway the friction or heat will start the cut, once cutting dont...

    lighting up the mill

I have purchased high end machinists style magnetic halogen style lamps used for machining. They work great, I love them but I recently got a new wood/metal bandsaw and it really needed a good lamp for it. I ended up purchasing a sewing machine lamp as I was too cheap to purchase another...

    Punch press

Get it, I saw a video of a guy who put a handle on the flywheel. He used it as a flypress. IE No motor, and it was one just like that. All that mass would make a great flypress. Chris
