    Tru oil

I am wondering if any of you ever use Tru Oil on stabilized scales to prevent fading of the finish from useage, blood etc.? I have used it on non stabilized scales but have never used it on stabilized wood. Any opinions? Thanks for any response.

    Bogus email

Just wanted to warn you fellas, if you get an email that indicates it is from Fed X and says something about an address being wrong which caused them to be unable to deliver an item and has a supposed invoice to open, do not click on this. It is a bug of some sort. I was fortunate that my...

    Glass platen

I am using ceramic glass platen. It is not wore out, I just noticed that I am beginning to see some scratches on the platen where pressure is applied. I have been using a razor blade to get rid of the black stuff. I was just surprised to see scratches after only 5 blades.

    Glass platen

I started using a glass platen a short time ago and was surprised to see that grooves are already started to form where pressure is put against the platen. I am wondering if this is common or not. Also wondering if this black crud from the Blaze belts has something to do with it. I am talking...

Anyone else having problems with Norton Blaze...

Thank you for what you are trying to get acccomplished with Norton Lawrence and Ed. I did run one of the new ones that I just received today for a short period of time and sure enough, there was a small amount on the top edge and bottom edge of the glass platen. I am wondering if this stuff...

Anyone else having problems with Norton Blaze...

Lawrence, I do not have variable speed, only the step pulleys. It does not sound like you are grinding that fast. Since I do this part time, I do not use the volume of belts that some others do. I had a pretty good supply of 36 grit and have just recently needed to reorder. I guess I may have...

Anyone else having problems with Norton Blaze...

Is this problem with the Blaze Plus? I have been using the blaze ever since they first became available and have not experienced this with them, but I do not grind fast and hard. I did have this same problem with some 3M belts a few years ago and will not use them again.

    Bandsaw blades

Even though two bandsaw blades may be made by the same company, they are not always the same quality. I started to cut out some new blanks and changed the bandsaw blade before starting. The old blade had cut 23 1/8" CPMD2 blanks that were 8 1/2" OAL. and 7 1/8" CPM S35VN blades that were 8...
