David, A frequency converter will not work with your Grizzly because it's motor is single phase. The VFD converts single phase household electric to three phase to power a 3 phase motor. The only way I know to get variable speed on a Griz is to mount a v-belt pulley on the buffer side and...

Guess this is direct drive like the EERF brad ? 3600 RPM motor would be best for direct drive. What type VFD are you running. Wayne Coe set them to run 2x speed on a KBAC I believe which would work for you. I'm turning 3600 RPM at the driveshaft with a 4" drive wheel and I'm considering...
