ok now I'm confused can you spit dip in a quinch tank. or quinch in a dip can I dunno I just use a bowl of water and wash it good before the wife has a chance to see it.

Thanks James and Ed I will do it this way far sure the first to knives I made I tried for a mirrow finish. I am going to be making a batch with D2 and have read it does not mirrow finish very well. Plus I think a satin finish will be better for what I'm making anyhow.

trying to understand the reason for taking the blade up to 1000 or 1200 grit and then backing up to 600 grit how is the finish different than just stoping at 600 on the way up thanks for the help Rodney

Joe I had not thought about the affect of acetone when cleaning off epoxy that would be bad to have every thing glued up and then melt the liners. I may end up getting some G10 as Bruce, Murph and some others have suggested.
