    BRad You dont want the harbor fright 1x30 that is what i use it would be ok for just sharpening but you would get more use out of the sears 2"x42". I do use my grinder for all my knife grinding but i am in the process of building something better.

    Stay away from the table saw for small pices as deltashooter said big blades and small pices of wood = bad combo. scroll saw can be used but yes you will have wavy lines to sand flat. band saw is the way to go for sure
