    inlay help needed

    I spoke with knifemaker Vernie Reed at the guild show last year about how he does his inlays and he said that he just makes a dovetail cut with files and lets the liners keep it in place on the side to side. I havent tried it yet but will be giving it a shot eventually.

    I was thinking the same thing earlier today about the variable speed. I've still been looking for a smaller drive wheel to slow this thing down as well but haven't had any luck. Keep us posted on the conversion!!! And take pics please.

    I didn't either I was just thinking about the drive wheel size to slow her down. It's always nice to see things that give you another aspect of doing something!

    Grinder Woes

    Go for it!!!!!!!!!!!! Ive still got it where i can run the smaller belt as well. Mine actually tracks the smaller belts better now than it did before. I havent run across a smaller drive wheel yet but ive got my eyes peeled and will let you know when i come up with something.
