    Re-handle opinions…

I read this wrong. I thought the final recipient modified the handle but it was your relative. So yeah, do what MTBob suggested. Very un-cool of the relative. Send the relative the re-handling bill!

    Sorry took time off

I can't say I know which site you are referring to. But when I've done some google searches for "how to" stuff I've run across posts/threads on other knife forums where the discussions weren't "productive". Not sure why people need to behave that way. I haven't seen very much of that going on...

    Re-handle opinions…

I would reach out to the purchaser and recipient and let them know that that is no longer my knife due to the modifications - no warranty, etc. etc. You could also offer to do what Dennis suggested and that would maintain the warranty but certainly not for free! I keep pictures of every knife...

    Damascus Hunter

I generally do one layer at a time and if I'm bending it, I bend each one, glue it, and then move onto the next. The sheets bend easily to fit and can be done with your thumb or something else that you can push with. Of course I can't speak for exactly how the original OP did it.

    Damascus Hunter

Those are going to be alternating layers of stainless sheets and thin black liner material. You can buy them in different thicknesses to get different looks.

    Flat or Hollow grind

I would do flat grinds. Most of mine are hollow and that's only because it was how I started. It really is a pain in the butt to keep the lines straight, thicknesses, etc. etc. I've actually started to transition away from hollow just for those reasons. Plus, with a flat grind you can opt not...

Here's some I've been working on for a little while

Gotcha, They do have reasonably priced mokume. I needed something thicker for guards on a Bowie I'm making. Mokume is tricky when you try to get brass into the "mix" since it melts before the copper/nickel.

I could probably spend a few hours of prying you with whiskey about mokume alone....

    Glass platen?

Yeah the static buildup does make things interesting. I guess I've been too lazy to try and fix it so I just tolerate it.
