I tested the blade in 4 different areas, and I see no difference in the heat treat. It's still right where it was prior to engraving. I made sure to test in the areas where it got the hottest. I also think I went a little overboard on both the design and my settings. I'm going to try a single...

Played around with a full blade etch. The dragon was first and warped the blade. Then the laser assy. pushed it around a bit and messed it up. I did the other side, and it took the warp out! This is heat treated AEB-L. 100% at 4800 mm/m with 2 passes and it took somewhere between 20-30 minutes...

Well...my brand-new laser engraver arrived, and it seems to be DOA! The external power supply light is lit but the unit will not power up when I press the on/off switch. What a disappointment! I sent an email to Creality. I guess we'll see what happens!

Trouble Heat Treating Baker Forge Bronze SanMai

I bought a very expensive piece of Bronze SanMai from Baker Forge. It is made with bronze and 80CRV2. I followed their heat treat instructions to the "T" and I am unable to get it past 50 HRC. I have Paragon Knife Kiln that is very stable. I also have an oil heater for my quench oil with a temp...

    Folding Knife Blade to Fixed...

This is a picture of the blade types. Many of each style. Some are too small for a fixed blade conversion. Most are Shrade factory leftovers, and all are made in the USA. Wish I could make folders...
