You can learn alot from the bladesmiths on this site. I have. I don't forge myself, I restore and repair vintage knives & cutlery and use others' blade blanks to get what I want for myself and friends/family. There's a good bunch of folks here with a ton of knowledge to share...

Nice. Those wenge scales should be up to the task on a chopper. I've worked with it and I'd say it's comparable to hickory as far as being a tough wood. Splintery to work with and the dust is toxic. Worth it though as one can see in your photos. Very nice..............
