    Going in for repairs

Smithy, I will be praying for you. Got the CT Scan this morning and got the results over the phone, half of which I have already forgotten. Sounds like the mass is asbestos related although it sounds contained. Something to keep an eye on yearly. They also suspect the start of emphysema...

    Differentionally H/T Dagger?

Never tried this method with a double bevel but if the blade isn't to long it could work. Heat the whole blade up to cherry and remove from heat then light up a torch and keep the edges hot as the spine cools. Then quench. I see this is an older thread but at least its still 2016.

    Going in for repairs

Have patients, don't be in such a hurry. I've stopped hurrying. Went to VA for check up and to schedule an appointment for for the CT Scan which is a week from today. Like I said I've been working on my patients. Please feel free to pray.

    Going in for repairs

Surgery has been canceled until the small mass my left lung is diagnosed properly. Hope to find out more once I have a ct scan but that date has not been set yet. I have an appointment with VA next Friday. It is at that time I hope to schedule the ct scan. Please keep me in your prayers.....

    Going in for repairs

I received a little set back yesterday afternoon from the surgeons office. I was told that the chest x ray I had Tuesday showed I have a small mass in my left lung. I should find out more today. Thanks for your prayers and please don't stop!

    Small Bowie

I certainly don't see it. When I had a knife with a false edge I always hand to adjust the lighting and take several photo's before I'd get the photo I was after.

    Going in for repairs

On the 26th of this month I will be having my torn rotator cuff repaired. Please pray that this surgery goes well and that I don't do anything to screw things up during my recovery. Besides the right shoulder issues my right hand and wrist need fixing also. Going to see if while I am recovering...

    Small Bowie

Darrin, I agree with everyone else about this being a very clean knife although to me it needs a false edge to really finish it off.

Monkey pod wood, Who has worked with it?

I was given an old table top made from monkey pod several years ago. Haven't used any in years now. Can's recall any problems working it other than the dust irritated my eyes and made me sneeze. It was one of the few woods I was sensitive to.

    And There Were

Two Books. The Holy Bible and the Book of Life. Those that Believe and Obeyed the First found Their Names in the Second. Prayer opens the door but the Bible Opens the Gate. Just how important is knowing God's Word? I posted this back in 2009 when I first started my forum here on Knifedogs...

What is the ideal size of wheel for hollow grinding?

I did my first hollow grinds on a regular bench grinder with a 8" stone wheel. I didn't know what I was missing until I got my first belt grinder.

    Pride

When a person is full of pride there is no room for God. This person becomes his own God. Been thinking about the Fruits of the Spirit off and on the last few weeks. The last fruit is self-control.

    Knives from band saw blades

They won't be 15n20 or L-6. I had picked up several of the steel cutting band saw blades 10 years ago and seem to recall they were O-2. Carbon content was not as high as O-1.

    The moose!

Nice looking folder! Several years ago I visited Wayne Goddard in his shop. I noticed several pieces of antler which were from different types of 4 legged animals. Elk, deer, and moose. Wayne was telling he performed a test to see which antler would move the most over a set period of time. All...
