What's going on in your shop?

Lol I just know for me personally, I just don't want to be using a good knife to pry on things especially or to be using a good knife as a screw driver. So that's what they are meant for. But everyone has their own opinions! [emoji4]

What's going on in your shop?

You talking about the mini prybars? I use scrap metal and grind a single sided bevel on one end, then drill a hole in the other end to put on a key ring. Then I heat treat and temper them the exact same way as I do my knife blades. They actually come in very handy on a key chain. If you need to...

    Cleaver Project

I've bought a file guide last year from this guy. I've been pleased with it so far. The only minor issue I've had is one of the pins wants to slide too freely and will sometimes slip out when I'm adjusting it. http://www.billbehnkeknives.com/available_items.html

What's going on in your shop?

I'm amazed at the quality of workmanship in this thread! Great job guys! I'm currently working on the largest batch of blades I've ever done at one time! A little bit of everything in here. Drop points (both Loveless style full tangs and some hidden tang for stacked handles), a few harpoon...

[emoji1417] I agree a mirror finish sure does look pretty! Can't blame you for wanting to do it just once! Good luck!

    Cleaver Project

    Started my first knife.

According to what kind of "welding steel" it is, it might still make a serviceable knife and might still harden ok, but you'd just need to find out exactly what kind of steel it is so you could do the heat treat and quench for that type steel. I agree with Justin though, 1084 is a great...

    Little Kephart just finished

I just finished this little 3 finger Kephart for a friend. He requested black and red micarta scales and an acid washed finish. I'm pleased with how it turned out. It's 1084 steel 5/32" thick. 3"blade, 6.25" OAL.
