    KMG plans?

Check out the Build Moe's Grinder on the DVD page of my web-site, also check out the video on the Grinders page. Non KMG clone but more versatile and simpler to build. Let me know if I can help you. I will have some of the DVDs at Quad State next week.

Ribbon Burner build for new forge.

Probably not. The only reason that I stock these is because I found that the 1/4" NPT Needle Valves are hard to find. Most hardware and big box stores just stock compression fitting valves.

Ribbon Burner build for new forge.

I have 1/4" NPT needle valves, which I think is the way to go. They are $15.00 each plus $8.00 S&H. Let me know if I can help you.

    Ribbon burner questions

I really suggest that a forge not be more than 12" long unless you are heat treating really long blades or twisting long balusters. You can only forge about 6" at a time. Over heating will cause grain growth, excessive scaling and decarbonation. Let me know if I can help you.

    Ribbon burner questions

The space down allows air/fuel to spread out more. For that length forge you should have a 9 or 12" burner using 3X3" tubing. I believe 2" would be to small. Check out the attachments on my Forge Supplies page at www.WayneCoeArtistBlacksmith.com. You should find all the info you need there...

anyone heard of Skull-Forge? looking for a reasonable priced propane forge newbie hear

I would not recommend that forge. Check out the Build a Gas Forge and other attachments on the Forge Supplies page of www.WayneCoeArtistBlacksmith.com. It is much easier to build your own forge than you would think. You could build a far better forge than that for about the same amount of...

In that price range check out the Nielsen disk system on the Grinders page of my web site. You will now have to get the hub and disks from Rod. I can supply the motor, VFD, VFD mounting bracket and wiring kit. Being able to change flat disks for bevel disk, the forward/reverse and the variable...

    PID Ribbon burner discussion

You can adjust the temp of a Ribbon Burner by adjusting the air/fuel mixture just as you would a oxy/fuel torch. Check out the attachments on the Forge Supplies page of my web-site, Previously Boss Dog started a thread about pyrometers or pids and I posted my instructions for making one. Let...

    Thoughts on a motor

When the non NEMA 4 VFDs are in close approximation to a belt grinder lots of fine metal grindings are sucked into the VFD causing it to short out . With a mill and surface grinder fluids are used to cool the tool so any grindings don't get airborne so much.

    sno seal

Snoseal is commonly sold in Backpacking stores. It is primarily for water proofing boots for hiking in wet and snow conditions. I put it on my suede boots and they became smooth leather. I would apply it thickly, then heat it for it to soak in then reapply. After reaching a saturation point...
