Just got this finished, last one of the year. 420 SS with a 52100 core , dovetailed stainless bolster, G10 handle and an edges thickness of 0.010 . This is the thinnest edge I have ever put on a blade and it is SCARY sharp.

Just finished these 1080/15N20 steel,laddered crushed W's,stainless fittings and stabilized natural Maple burl (not dyed).

Stick with Stainless steel rod.

I never know what to do with small left over pieces of my Damascus. So I weld a tang on and turn them into small kitchen knives. These 3 have Iron wood handles, micarta spacers and stainless fittings with epoxy and pinned handles.

I forged a San Mai blade out of 416SS and 52100. I have made about 20 of these and never had a problem. I heat treated it 1500 Deg F and tempered at 400 Deg F. Everything was fine, I looked at the blade two days later and everything was fine on the 3rd day I decided to finish the blade. When I...

Done except for the leather work .......and I hate leather work ! I heat blued all the stainless fittings except for the guard.
