BladeBond Epoxy in stock and ready to ship!

And, I have a question if you are still around. Lately I've been making some knives and using Cerakote to coat them. I know typically Blade Bond requires the tang to be rubbed down with the maroon scotchbrite pad but what about on a coating like Cerakote? I'm also using mechanical fasteners so...

    Which Grinder to buy?

I have a coote and a friend has the grizzly. Of the two I'd take the coote with step pulleys. I haven't tried the sling. Can you add a contact wheel to it? Or even a small wheel holder? If you can and it's more cost effective with add-ons and you don't mind putting it together it may be...

BladeBond Epoxy in stock and ready to ship!

I'm interested in trying this and the LR formula. I use systems 3 clear coat for cord wrapped handles now so I'll be interested to see how the LR stacks up. I also G-Flex 655k. It's the thicker stuff that comes in the toothpaste tubes. It does a very good job for my full tang work and is very...

    Offensive Cheapskates !

I'm glad I found this thread. Good info in here. Ed, your experiences in these things is invaluable. I hate low ball offers but some customers do it more tactfully than others. I like giving a good product at a good price but it's difficult to work with customers that either don't know the...

What are the best grinders that a man who wants to one day be a pro buy

On the same note my grinder and tooling arms are also aluminum. I haven't noticed any problems or inadequacies but i haven't dropped them either. My coote was solid steel but shook a little like a chihuahua in a 10 mph breeze. After running the direct drive on my aluminum grinder and seeing...

What are the best grinders that a man who wants to one day be a pro buy

I don't have much to add to the conversation except to stress direct drive and vfd as being impossible for me to live without now that I have them. When I started a friend and fellow knife maker recommended a middle of the road grinder to see if I liked making knives without breaking the bank...

New Knife Making TV show on History Channel this fall....

I've been looking forward to this. Thank you for posting the info. Since I don't have cable I'm hoping I can get episodes from amazon. I also hope this helps to put more of a positive view on knife making as a skilled art form instead of any negative views the general public may already have.
