Well I am looking to gather general information on blade care so both issues are of interest.

I would like to know what is best for blade protection , gun cote etc

My feather Damascus Hunter is done , the Damascus is 1075 and 15n20 for the blade and guard and the handle is a mystery Asian hardwood with a domed

Makers mark and etched , I may etch it a little deeper.

I have not settled on a given etching system , I am going to give Kyle Royer's format a try . I do believe that etching for Damascus and etching for Hamon are two different animals.

Love the handle, nice shape and flow , that wood is bella.

Thanks Opaul , I anxious to etch the blade as its 2880 layer feather damascus and I did have a few edge issues with the last weld.

Clip point done , I like it better then the original drop point.

It was a small check on the corner , it was about 1/16 by 1/16 , ground the clip in and it is gone.
