What's going on in your shop?

Thanks man. I did some aluminum scales on the first run but I wanted to try g10. I'm not set up to do it so I had Eric Elson make these for me. He did a great job for sure. I have heard that g10 basically trashes coolant.

How can I get a good flame striped finish on Ti?

Heres a pic. Again i dont want to just copy strider but I'm hoping to do something in a thin pattern like this.

How can I get a good flame striped finish on Ti?

I meant the handles, not the blades. They do some flamed lock sides.

How can I get a good flame striped finish on Ti?

I have a customer who really wants a flamed Ti handle. I tried using my propane torch but the results were poor. The flame is too large to get a pattern. It just heat anodized a large section. He specifically wants thin stripes kind of like a strider. Is there a specific fuel and torch combo...

    Paypal

Not sure how this works in the US (I'm from Canada). I used wave in Canada but for US cards they use Stripe to process. My Stripe account was closed by them because I sell knives. I have been doing a ton of research on "high risk" payment gateways. I have opened one and I will make a thread...

Disc grinders, what do you use them for?

I have had an AMK disc grinder for some time now and I have tried using it for a variety of things but I haven't found a great use for it yet. I have tried using it to: set locks - I found the discs wear out fast and I can only set 1 or 2 before I need to change the disc. If I just use my...

What's the best way to sell knives as a hobbyist, not as a business?

Hey, Props for making it through any of my youtube stuff (its a little rough around the edges...). I made a limited company based on the recommendation of people who know more about these types of things. I am no business expert so I just followed the advice I was given.

What's the best way to sell knives as a hobbyist, not as a business?

I am actually switching payment gateways now to something that is knife friendly. If it pans out ill post all the details. What I have learned is if you get legit make a business, taxes etc. There is a minimum cost of operating. I would guess I spend a few thousand at least every year just to...

    price break for repeat customers

Personally I try to treat all customers the same (as much as possible). I know the discount is being offered with the best intention but it can certainly be viewed in a negative light by a new customer not receiving it. The more consistent you can be, the better. I think once you know a certain...

What's going on in your shop?

I managed to get these fixed blades done last weekend. I haven't made one in quite some time. Also my first time using nitro-v. Back to folders for a bit but I definitely want to make more of these.
