Shutting down the business in the unlikely event of my death

Shutting down the business We're all going to live forever, right? I consider the first week or so in January a 'slack time', a time to do maintenance, catch my breath, and get ready for the next year. One other thing that I do at this time is review my "After Death Instructions" for those...

    Full tang bolster assembly

Nicely done tutorial. Pretty much the way I do it. Only thing different is I put a _very_ thin coat of JB weld down before I put on the bolsters to serve as a seal against moisture. Almost all of it gets squeezed out.

    my first fully completed blade

You're on your way! My advice to any new maker, 1) never give up on a knife project - make something useful out of it. 2) stop work when you feel good about what you're doing - never give up in disgust.

    HELP! Web page review

Thanks for taking the time to do that. It's a relief to know that it's working 'out there'. Since my knives are usually 'one-offs' and I don't make very many compared to other makers, I don't have a shopping cart feature. I have relied on people contacting me either through e-mail or on the...

    HELP! Web page review

Not long ago I bought an Apple and changed the whole format of my webpage. Updates using a PC were a real problem. I've learned to use the Apple and the whole process is about 10% of the time that the PC was. HOWEVER, web page hits, and business, have really dropped. I don't know if it's the...

    Damascus Bowie with Ironwood

Here's one I just sold. I'm posting it as much for the photograph as the knife. It just happened to be an overcast but bright day a few weeks ago. As I was walking out to my shop I looked down and saw the leaves and thought I'd try a shot with them as background. I think it worked pretty...

    Damascus Dagger

    Internet Sales Tax

Both political parties seem to be in favor of an internet sales tax to level the field between on-line and 'brick and mortar' stores and to raise revenues. Possibly as much as 11%. I think that'll pretty much take my site off of the internet. I likely have only a few years of knife making...
