Well I am at a halt. I heat treated the blade and it delaminated in on section about 1/2 in long. I am going to try and heat it again and see if it will weld back if not I am out of luck on this one and have to start over.

I think if you have a good weld and make sure it is annealed then you should not have a problem.

I have used the gun coat and the cerakote and would have to say the cerakote has held up better. I am still new to the coatings but used both on identical knives I sent to units and the cerakote knives have not come off the gun cote has either chipped and corners or has scratched all the way...
