    Here's a quick article I saw in "Fine Woodworking". I thought this bin might actually work for storing steel stock as well. Pretty easy build, maybe reinforce the walls/floor to hold more weight, since metal weighs more, but the concept would be the same. Cheers !! Larry

    Few things .... 1). I would scrap off the wax with a scraper, cut your blocks into 1 x 2 x 5 sizes, and then test the moisture. If its under 15% just air dry it for awhile. 2). If you do the home made kiln......(which is a great idea) get your self a cheap "computer style fan" for like $15...

    I picked these up from another maker. Seki city VG-10 damascus folders that need scales put on. I have no idea what size screws they need tho. He didn't have any screws for them either, so now the hunt is on. Anybody have an idea? Thanks Larry

    Well this one might get used for something other than knife handles..........sshhhhhh! I did have a couple blocks done up for knife handles tho, and they were about half as thick as this block, so 1" thick x 1.75 wide x 6" long. Works good for scales but not so much for stick tang work since...

    Yep....... I bought some pods and had this one stabilized and then sent it down to Pat and he cast the blue metallic resin for me. I highly recommend Pat. He does an awesome job with casting and colors.... Larry

    I use it as well for lots of woods.........in fact that will be finish of choice for some picture frames I am working on. (quilted cherry, leopard, and curly maple). The only issue I have run into is using it on oily woods like African blackwood.... It takes FOREVER to dry, and I believe...

    Josh what do you do with all your pieces that are smaller than a full sheet? Do they go back into the folders or ?? I have a scrap box for pieces, but then you gotta sift through them looking for a piece. Larry

    Brad thats a great example..... I am using something similiar with some flexible hardboard and a clamp. Tighten the clamp and the curve gets greater..... loosen it and the board goes flat. Lots of trial and error on this one I am thinkin....
