    First Knife Request

It is walrus ivory. Exact request because I had used some before. I will have better pictures, but it quits collecting dirt when you get to a higher grit. Was already informed that this is a display piece as a gift. They are mulling a coffin box for it.

    First Knife Request

Someone wanted a Bill Bagwell inspired knife after the Hells Belle concept. I came up with this. This is the rough fit, but it will not look much different, other than the Damascus will etch darker. This was just a test dip at 120 grit. The copper was colored and will wear to a two tone...

    Alamo Tribute Bowie

I have been working on my tools. I am slowly building things up. I can appreciate hand made. I am trying to find a balance between that and equipment. If quality suffers, then I buy something.

    Alamo Tribute Bowie

Do you have Facebook? There are some guys here in Texas that run Stag Depot. The quality of their stag keeps getting better. For extra money, they grind off the brow tine, re-texture that area, and color it. I have since done that myself. They will be at Blade also.

    Alamo Tribute Bowie

    Just deceiving pictures.

    Alamo Tribute Bowie

I am finally ready to glue this up and pin it. Been months in the making, but landed on finishes I like. Did not want flawless details, which I may not be capable of anyway, but wanted some rustic aspects with quality? Not sure that is worded correctly. 18 inches overall. It is Alabama...

    Sambar, bronze, and hamon

Others use McMaster carr I should also say it was 954 bronze. A lot of people order from McMaster Carr, but that can be overwhelming as there are a tremendous amount of options.

    Sambar, bronze, and hamon

Ed, I think it’s just pics. The grind goes all the way up and pics have a shadow. I can take better pics when I get the etch done.

    Sambar, bronze, and hamon

I just got this on eBay. Not cheap, but reasonable.

    Sambar, bronze, and hamon

Still in progress, but I can never wait! Sanded to 600 grit. There is a hamon in there and I will etch once I get it to 1500 grit. Decided to leave the Sambar untouched. The addiction continues.

    WIP Texas Bowie

I will post it. Just going super slow. Several new things on this one for me. Always waiting on supplies it seems.

    WIP Texas Bowie

The blade is not done, but hopefully getting supplies in this week to finish it. Jumped ahead to start darkening all the pieces. Not a final finish, but just making sure it will look OK. The shiny stuff is Damascus. I will also darken the stag back once finished shaping. More and better...

It is a medical oven that someone just gave me. Super accurate. Look up Quincy labs.

    Something's not jiving

This is the problem. Mix baking soda in water and dip it in there.

    I like it!

    Another Sambar with Bronze

Lower grade and so I ground past the exterior.

    Sambar EDC

The stag was filled with epoxy, very little in this case, and then it all sets up. Then I will create some fixture to get it on the drill press level so the hole lines up on both sides. I usually place the ricasso on a block so I know it is level. Then I will stack something under the other...
