    DIY file guide?

After the side discussion on @Daniel Macina knife post .. @Bruce McLeish showed a DIY version so I thought I’d start this. I’ve seen file guides for over $100. Seems a bit pricey to me. If I cut one from scrap and tap ... would heat treat and temper be advised to extend the life? Just curious...

    Ironwood Hunter

so I'm going to point out something that I often have issues with as well. I can NEVER get my plunge lines to be the same ... no matter how I try. Yours are super close but I have that same issue. I'm guessing you don't have a file guide ... like I don't. Really nice knife ... I don't mean any...

    Stencil Printer?

Poking around the InterWebs and ran across the Brother P700 label printer. I noticed they have stencil tape available. Anyone used this for their makers marks? Printer is $80 and the stencil tape is $21. Seems pretty reasonable.

    How do I achieve this

I think he's more interested in the fact that the grind line is wavy ... not straight. Not necessarily the hammered look. Maybe I'm wrong though ;)

    Toaster Oven Mods

I did the integrated PID but it shouldn’t matter ... I think I can get it tweaked to within a few degrees ... however before converting ... setting the temp to around 330 F was swinging between 303 and 468 ... so I’m way better off at this point

    Need to replace Evenheat coil/element

My wife has a Skutt ceramic kiln that I just replaced 2 elements on. On that one the elements came with new barrel connectors ... needed to cut off the old ones leaving as much wire as possible (just at the edge of the connector) her elements had spots that bent in relation to the corresponding...

also worth noting ... after adding the wool wrap .. at 350 F the outside it the oven on the controller side was reading 95 F with a point and shoot thermometer ... prior to that it was too hot to touch .. that wool is good stuff

    Toaster Oven Mods

I did some preliminary tuning today and was getting consistent +/- 10 ... I do think there’s more tweaking I can do but I was impressed. Right now it switches off at the set temp and drifts upwards then switches back on at .1 below set temp and drifts downward .. if that’s adjustable (I think...

A Wiring/Electrical question for the group

So I was tinkering with my toaster oven today .. and Christmas lights ... and haven’t really had time to look at this thread @EdCaffreyMS . The first thing to do would be verify which wiring diagram matches your machine ... as has already been stated. I believe that will lead you to the answer.

So I wrapped it in some ceramic refractory wool and buttoned it up ... still need to tune the PID unit but I think it’s gonna do fine
